Caring for Your Sports Clothes

Sports clothing items are often expensive, so it is important to take good care of these things. Therefore, do not just throw all your athletic clothes into the washing machine along with your other stuff. Instead, consider these ideas on how you can keep your sporting apparel in good condition by careful cleaning and washing.

Clothes that are stinky and sweaty should be washed right away once you get home. However, if you are too busy to do this, make sure to hang them up to dry first before bundling them together with your other clothes. This would prevent the sweat from getting to your other clothes.

When you finally get the time to do your laundry, add half a cup or one cup of vinegar to your wash since this would help in eliminating bad odours and mildew. Use a detergent that is gentle or, alternatively, you can purchase a product that has been specifically developed to be used on sports clothes. Furthermore, do not use any fabric softeners on the clothing since these could compromise the textile's ability to wick perspiration.

Once all your sports clothes such as bras, cycling gloves, and other items with elastic have been washed, do not put them in the dryer. Instead, hang them up to air dry so that their respective shapes would be maintained.

By keeping these tips in mind when you are washing your sports clothing, you can be sure that you will be able to ensure the items' continued durability and performance.
